Capital Uniform Services Joins the Dempsey Family.
Founded in 1979 by Dan and Elizabeth Morris, Capital Uniform Services had a goal from the start: to provide reliable uniform services while ensuring that every customer received a great experience, personal service, and quality products at a fair price. Early on, Capital Uniform Services made an immediate impact, cultivating a strong and loyal customer base. To the husband and wife team, it was proof positive that treating customers with respect was a viable business plan.
Both New York natives, Dan and Elizabeth hail from large families, with Dan growing up in the Bronx and Elizabeth in Carmel. When Dan’s father, a 40+ year veteran of the uniform rental industry, joined the family business, his expertise and guidance helped shape the company’s future. Integrity and hard work have always been important to the Morris family, and they are proud to have passed these values down to the next generation, with four children and 10 grandchildren participating in the family business.
Over the next four decades, Capital Uniform Services expanded its product and service offerings to include linen rentals and facility services, all the while remaining committed to providing customers with dependable service.
From its location in historic Poughkeepsie, New York, Capital Uniform Services serves customers in Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, and Westchester counties. Customer profiles range from small mom-and-pop shops to large companies and municipalities. Every week, Capital Uniform trucks hit the road to deliver freshly laundered uniforms and supplies to restaurants, automotive shops, landscaping companies, office buildings, government agencies, school districts, and more.
