Choose Dempsey and enjoy three unique benefits:

Highest Laundry Certification

Do you know who, if anyone, inspects your current laundry supplier to evaluate and ensure sanitary conditions?

At Dempsey, to support your infection control program, we’ve committed to the highest level of certification, Hygienically Clean Healthcare Certification by TRSA™. It’s the only laundry program that requires third-party bacteriological testing of linen cleanliness. We earn continued certification through quarterly testing of our products and processes, providing Dempsey customers with proof of compliance and peace of mind.

Highest Quality Products

We know your nursing staff gets frustrated when they waste valuable time searching for clean linens or, even worse, when a patient finds a stained gown first.

At Dempsey, we leverage technology, like our ProductPlus™ program, to provide quality products that improve your patient experience. We start with well-known Medline scrubs, gowns and sheets, process them with the most advanced laundry equipment, and inspect them with the most tenured team in the business. Each package of linen will be clean and usable, saving you time and money.

At Dempsey, we leverage technologies, like our VacuTrack™ and CustomerPortal systems, to provide transparent billing that helps you reduce your linen supply cost per case. We accurately track the soiled linens you turn in - and let you view those numbers in your online Customer Portal - then, we only bill you based on your usage.

For Residents of Short Hills, New Jersey, Excellent Medical Care is just Minutes Away

The town of Short Hills is built on land originally purchased by inventor Stewart Hartshorn in 1877. Wanting to preserve the natural beauty of the area, Hartshorn positioned the roads so they would wind around groups of trees, following the natural contours of the hills and streams. By using this design, he was able to preserve the beauty of the chestnut forest of the future town of Short Hills. His mission was to create a beautiful city, where nature lovers could live in harmony with each other and the outdoors. Today, the town has a full-time forester who advises residents on proper tree care. No tree can be cut down in Short Hills without a legitimate justification and the resulting permit.

Hartshorn named the community Short Hills for two reasons: the mountains in the area are only 660 feet high, and the Lenape natives originally called the city by the same name. Legend has it that Hartshorn took a bit of pleasure and pride in the fact that his initials matched those of the town.

The Cora Hartshorn Arboretum and Bird Sanctuary (CHA) is a non-profit organization in Short Hills, developed on land donated by the founder to his daughter Cora in 1923. In keeping with her father’s ideals, Cora wanted to use the property as a place where people could enjoy the beauty of nature and wildlife. She built the Stone House – completed in 1933 – using trap rock from her father’s quarry. The spot was bequeathed to the township when she died in 1958, and was later renovated and expanded into today’s CHA. The CHA consists of the Stone House, a laboratory, a bird observatory, and 16 acres of woodlands with 3 miles of scenic walking trails. Its mission is to foster and promote environmental awareness, education, and stewardship within the greater community. They also offer nature education classes for all ages. Events throughout the year include exploration of the surrounding forests, forestry education, environmental protection, and bird watching.

Greenwood Gardens is the site of a beautiful, colonial-revival mansion and stunning gardens that are open to the public: 28 acres of flowers, Italianate terraces, wildflower meadows, grottoes, moss-covered paths, and statues. The Greenwood is nestled inside the 2,110 acres of the South Mountain Reservation and is known for its quiet beauty and natural wonders. The beautiful setting of the Garden is perfect for events like nature classes and workshops, environmental lessons, tree identification, and presentations on the restorative benefits of communing in a natural space. They also offer classes in yoga and art. During the Moonlight Walk, visitors tour the dark, still gardens and listen to the hooting of the native owls.

Being more of a neighborhood than an actual municipality, Short Hills relies on neighboring cities for hospital services. However, the Short Hills Surgery Center is doctor-owned and administered. The Center specializes in surgery and pain management, with more than 70 specialists in general surgery, orthopedics, spine care, retinal surgery, and more. At Dempsey Uniform & Supply, we are proud to supply high quality uniform rentals, Hygienically Clean linens and laundry service, and facility supplies to a wide variety of healthcare and medical facilities in the counties surrounding Short Hills, New Jersey.

Also of note, Short Hills is home to the headquarters for the Christopher and Dana Reeve Paralysis Resource Center. Christopher Reeve, the actor famous for bringing Superman to life on the big screen in 1978, was paralyzed after falling from a horse. Reeves and his wife created the Foundation to raise funds and awareness for spinal cord injury. Though Christopher Reeve passed away in 2004, his program lives on and has raised more than $22 million, bringing hope to thousands.
