Choose Dempsey and enjoy three unique benefits:

Highest Laundry Certification

Do you know who, if anyone, inspects your current laundry supplier to evaluate and ensure sanitary conditions?

At Dempsey, to support your infection control program, we’ve committed to the highest level of certification, Hygienically Clean Healthcare Certification by TRSA™. It’s the only laundry program that requires third-party bacteriological testing of linen cleanliness. We earn continued certification through quarterly testing of our products and processes, providing Dempsey customers with proof of compliance and peace of mind.

We know your nursing staff gets frustrated when they waste valuable time searching for clean linens or, even worse, when a patient finds a stained gown first.

At Dempsey, we leverage technology, like our ProductPlus™ program, to provide quality products that improve your patient experience. We start with well-known Medline scrubs, gowns and sheets, process them with the most advanced laundry equipment, and inspect them with the most tenured team in the business. Each package of linen will be clean and usable, saving you time and money.

At Dempsey, we leverage technologies, like our VacuTrack™ and CustomerPortal systems, to provide transparent billing that helps you reduce your linen supply cost per case. York, Pennsylvania, Physicians are Leading the way in making Robot-assisted Surgeries a Mainstream Solution

York, named after the town in England, calls itself “The White Rose City,” after one side in the War of the Roses (nearby Lancaster associates itself with a red rose, the symbol of the opposing side). As it was here where the Articles of Confederation were first drafted, the city also claims the honor of being the first Capital city in America. Loyalists of the Declaration of Independence, signed in Philadelphia, fiercely disagree, as do most historians. However, the claim is reflected in many local businesses whose names begin with “First Capital.”

The town is known for its preserved historic architecture, including the York Meetinghouse (1766), the General Horatio Gates House (1751), and the Golden Plough Tavern (1741). These and many other structures still stand in four national historic districts: Springdale, Northwest York, Fairmount, and York.

Today, the York Meeting House is still used by Quakers as a worship space. The General Horatio Gates House was built by the American General credited with winning the Revolutionary War’s Battle of Saratoga. The adjacent Golden Plough Tavern is a structure conceived with German medieval-influences. Both the General Horatio Gates House and the Golden Plough Tavern are now public museums that showcase what life was like during Colonial and Revolutionary America. The Golden Plough Tavern is best known for its Carpentry Museum.

The Golden Plough Tavern is also where a secret cabal met and planned an unsuccessful removal of George Washington as leader of the Continental Army, and replacement by Horatio Gates. The attempt was an embarrassing failure. During the Civil War, York was briefly occupied by Major General Jubal Anderson Early, who took advantage of a short absence of Union forces to demand supplies, money, and clothing for his Division. Later, the city was home to the York U.S. Army Hospital, which treated more than 14,000 Union soldiers injured in battles at nearby Gettysburg and Antietam. It was after the Battle of Antietam that Abraham Lincoln issued the preliminary Emancipation Proclamation. The old York U.S. Army Hospital grounds have been converted into Penn Park, which features a Soldiers and Sailors monument, and a bronze relief map of the former hospital.

WellSpan York Hospital, originally York Hospital and Dispensary, was founded through the efforts of local businessman Samuel Small, who donated the land in 1879 and rallied local support to create a much-needed “modern” hospital for York and the surrounding communities. Currently, the hospital is a leading practitioner and authority in the use of robot-assisted surgery. The manufacturer of the equipment, Intuitive Surgical, designated the hospital as a Robotic Epicenter, citing it as having the most experience using robot-surgery techniques. WellSpan York Hospital is one of only a handful of hospitals that serves as a robot-surgical teaching facility. York is home to numerous medical and healthcare organizations, many of which Dempsey Uniform & Linen Supply is proud to serve. Our ever-expanding clientele includes Family First Health, Leader Surgical Associates, and Pediatric Care of York.
