OUR MEDICAL LINEN SYSTEM

Choose Dempsey and enjoy three unique benefits:

Highest Laundry Certification

Do you know who, if anyone, inspects your current laundry supplier to evaluate and ensure sanitary conditions?

At Dempsey, to support your infection control program, we’ve committed to the highest level of certification, Hygienically Clean Healthcare Certification by TRSA™. It’s the only laundry program that requires third-party bacteriological testing of linen cleanliness. We earn continued certification through quarterly testing of our products and processes, providing Dempsey customers with proof of compliance and peace of mind.

Highest Quality Products

We know your nursing staff gets frustrated when they waste valuable time searching for clean linens or, even worse, when a patient finds a stained gown first.

At Dempsey, we leverage technology, like our ProductPlus™ program, to provide quality products that improve your patient experience. We start with well-known Medline scrubs, gowns and sheets, process them with the most advanced laundry equipment, and inspect them with the most tenured team in the business. Each package of linen will be clean and usable, saving you time and money.

Lowest Total Cost

We know linen invoices can be confusing. After all, how can you control the cost when you don’t even know how many linens you are using?

At Dempsey, we leverage technologies, like our VacuTrack™ and CustomerPortal systems, to provide transparent billing that helps you reduce your linen supply cost per case. We accurately track the soiled linens you turn in - and let you view those numbers in your online Customer Portal - then, we only bill you based on your usage.

Binghamton, New York, is a Center for Regional Healthcare

Binghamton was named for William Bingham, a Senator in this country’s early Congress, based in Philadelphia. He was a Federalist, backing President John Adams, under whom he served as President Pro Tem in the 4th Congress. Alexander Hamilton called on Bingham to help mentor Hamilton in managing national taxes and tariffs, and developing the first National Bank. Previously, Bingham served as first Speaker in Pennsylvania’s House of Representatives. Having made his fortune as a privateer and mercantile industrialist, he was an avid surveyor, like George Washington, and one of his prime areas of interest was the confluence of the Chenango and Susquehanna Rivers, modern day Binghamton.

Today, Binghamton University reflects the entrepreneurial attitude that helped develop the Greater Binghamton Area, also known as the “Triple Cities,” comprised of Binghamton, Johnson City, and Endicott. What used to be a sleepy farming community just South of those towns, Vestal, New York, has grown over time to lend its size and strength to bolster the footprint of the original three cities. In fact, instead of being located in Binghamton as might be expected, the University sprawls across more than 800 acres in Vestal. A public research university, it’s widely considered to be one of the “Public Ivies” (a phrase invented in 1985 by Richaed Moll, a former Admissions Officer at Yale), having earned a stellar reputation for providing a quality of education comparable to the Ivy League colleges. His other “public ivies” include: the College of William & Mary, Miami University, the University of California, the University of Michigan, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Vermont, and the University of Virginia.

A common thread among these institutes of higher learning is a commitment to educating the next generation of healthcare providers. Examples include the University of Virginia School of Medicine, the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine, and – of course – Binghamton University’s Decker School of Nursing.

Offering a rigorous curriculum featuring highly respected Nursing and pre-Med programs, Decker serves as the base for the Center for Development and Behavioral Neuroscience, and operates the Southern Tier Center on Aging in conjunction with the State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical Center. Binghamton University’s most recognized and popular specialties are healthcare-related majors. Its new School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, which just accepted its first class in 2017, offers expanded programs in pharmacy and pharmacology, and will confer degrees up to Ph.D. level at a campus in Johnson City.

Two major hospital corporations compete in the area: United Health Services (UHS) – comprised of the former Binghamton Hospital and the sprawling Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, and Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton. The nearby Upstate Medical University, in Syracuse, operates the Dr. Garabed A. Fattal Community Free Clinic in conjunction with UHS and the Broome County Health Department. Dempsey Uniform & Linen Supply supports community health in the Binghamton region by providing medical linen rentals, health care uniform rentals, and facility supplies to a wide range of providers and practitioners including United Health Services.
