Choose Dempsey and enjoy three unique benefits:
Highest Laundry Certification
Do you know who, if anyone, inspects your current laundry supplier to evaluate and ensure sanitary conditions?
At Dempsey, to support your infection control program, we’ve committed to the highest level of certification, Hygienically Clean Healthcare Certification by TRSA™. It’s the only laundry program that requires third-party bacteriological testing of linen cleanliness. We earn continued certification through quarterly testing of our products and processes, providing Dempsey customers with proof of compliance and peace of mind.
Highest Quality Products
We know your nursing staff gets frustrated when they waste valuable time searching for clean linens or, even worse, when a patient finds a stained gown first.
At Dempsey, we leverage technology, like our ProductPlus™ program, to provide quality products that improve your patient experience. We start with well-known Medline scrubs, gowns and sheets, process them with the most advanced laundry equipment, and inspect them with the most tenured team in the business. Each package of linen will be clean and usable, saving you time and money.
Lowest Total Cost
We know linen invoices can be confusing. After all, how can you control the cost when you don’t even know how many linens you are using?
At Dempsey, we leverage technologies, like our VacuTrack™ and CustomerPortal systems, to provide transparent billing that helps you reduce your linen supply cost per case. We accurately track the soiled linens you turn in - and let you view those numbers in your online Customer Portal - then, we only bill you based on your usage.

Wilkes-Barre (pronounced wilkes-“berry”) was named after John Wilkes and Colonel Isaac Barré, supporters of the American Revolution. The city is located in the center of Pennsylvania’s Wyoming Valley, although the name Anthracite Valley would be far more descriptive. The word Wyoming, in this instance, derives from a Lenape Indian word meaning “at the smaller river hills”. In fact, the U.S. Western State of Wyoming is actually named for this Pennsylvania valley, thanks to settlers who migrated West from the area.
At the time of its discovery in the 19th century, the largest anthracite coal field in the United States was located under Wilkes-Barre. The city was nicknamed “The Diamond City” because of the shiny “black diamond” anthracite coal that was mined there. Today, Wilkes-Barre offers easy access to major interstate highways and is mere hours from urban centers like Philadelphia and New York. Occasionally overshadowed by its better-known neighbor, Scranton, Wilkes-Barre has been at the center of local trade and manufacturing since colonial times and remains so today.
Wilkes-Barre is possessed of the fourth largest workforce in Pennsylvania, compliments of key employers like Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield and multiple hospitals and clinics. In addition, 5,000 students attending Wilkes University and Kings College call the Downtown home. These colleges offer accredited, four-year degrees in pre-medical majors including Biology, Bio-Chemistry and Molecular Biology, Clinical Laboratory Science, and Health Care Management. Wilkes University also offers graduate degrees in Nursing, including MSN, DNP, and Ph.D. programs.
For a city of only 40,000, Wilkes-Barre is populated by a relative wealth of hospitals, including Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center, Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre, Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, and the Allied Services Wilkes-Barre Rehab Hospital. This offers residents access to medical services, expertise and technology typically found only in larger metropolitan areas. These facilities provide many jobs, including high-paying, specialized, and high-tech opportunities. A well-educated workforce and solid regional infrastructure have encouraged other medical practices and manufacturing companies to blossom in neighboring suburbs. Local manufacturing includes companies that produce the familiar medical carts seen in hospital hallways, motorized chairs for disabled patients, and stair and wheelchair lifts. At Dempsey Uniform & Linen Supply, we are proud to provide high quality healthcare linens and medical uniform rentals to many regional healthcare organizations including Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania, the Bucci Eye Surgery Center, and Med Express Urgent Care.
